Tank testing (also known as precision testing or integrity testing) is an analytical method that determines if a tank leaks in quantities at least as small as 0.1 gallons per hour (gph). It is a test to verify the structural adequacy of the construction of the tanks. This may be a hydrostatic test or, where the situation warrants, a hydropneumatic test. A failed tightness test indicates a suspected leak.
